Controversy erupted as soon as Apple rolled out its latest update, iOS 9. Users claim that the American Multi-na

tional company failed to warn them about the new Wi-Fi Assist that apparently overcharges data usage.

Many users who update to iOS 9 are not aware of the fact that it automatically turns the Wi-Fi Assist on by default. This means that when you are connected to a WiFi with weak signal, your device switches to mobile data to ensure that you are able to experience smooth internet browsing, but what you may not know is, this leads to possible data overcharge.

Apple failed to disclose this before they unveiled their latest iOS 9 update, and they are now facing massive complaints and a class-action suit. On top of that, the said company was also flooded with numerous articles and negative reviews. Users insist that they should be reimbursed for the overcharges.

Consumers who upgraded to iOS 9 and who regularly use their Apple devices for streaming and running different applications should make sure that their Wi-Fi Assist is turned off to ensure that they do not incur any unwanted charges on their mobile data use. This can be done by going to the Settings app and clicking Mobile. The toggle button can be found by scrolling down to the bottom.

Unfortunately, the option to turn off the WiFi Assist is not available to users of the older Apple devices like iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the first generation iPad Mini.
